retired life____

Posting on Holiday from Fuel Cafe, Massachusetts, July 3rd, 2014
Ralph has an ironic sensibility. He called this poem “trite.” I thought it cut to the heart of the matter. Perhaps that’s what an ironic sensibility is for? Distancing what you know to be the truth?

feeling less
doing less
Thinking more
second hand
understudy
disconnected
Left no mark
Left no smudge
contented
