on the train

3 train, 72nd Street to Fulton Street, October 1, 2014
Some people ponder, scribble and rip out sheets. She jotted it down at nearly the same speed that you read it. Lisa works at Teachers College and has been writing poems since she was eleven.

On the train
Going home
Work again
Not alone
9-5, I pay the bills
Still alive, I get chills
Almost there
Getting off
I’ll be home
Never lost!
