storm poem 1--

Wall Street station 2 train to Fulton Street Station, A/C train, to 42nd Street, February 5th 2014
During the ice storm. The 1, 2, and 3 trains were down. Everyone was forced to get off at Wall Street. Alex and I agreed to navigate together through lower Manhattan to the A/C train. She introduced herself by name along the way.

Descending from a pristine world
encased in ice
two travelers wandered into the depths
only to be unceremoniously ejected
and left to start their journey
all over again.
