She took her time and was very thoughtful and specific, as you can see from the edits. She was shy and said that she didn’t usually interact this way. I’m so glad she did. I have been meaning to post this poem for a very long time. I hope it adds a little light and hope during this time of unspeakable acts, horror and hatred. Christina works for the Nature Conservancy.
A rainbow is made of many colors
and nature should reflect us
In cities they see gray and squalor
But we are wildflowers growing in dust.
