My mind is bright---

2/3 Train, Nevins to Clark Street Station, December 13th, 2013
Two friends heading into Manhattan to acting school. They were very open and cheerful. Nicely put, that struggle between how we feel and how others see us.

My mind is bright
but yet confused and dim.
I’m not a beacon of light
that everyone assumes I am.
I’m lost at sea.
Trembling
Screaming silently
Completely lost at sea
Hoping for a new day
to come and wisk me away.
When the dawn hits my face,
I’ll know my saving is near.
