The third poet to agree even though a PBS crew was in tow. New Yorkers are not fazed by cameras, press. In fact they are chatty and nimble. Mike was. Later I tried on his snappy headphones. Blasting and otherworldly. He’s a promoter at Webster Hall.
Take a look at the sky
and see the picture
Take a look into eyes
and make your descripture
Then repaint the picture
from the base of those eyes
Now your whole life has changed. Abrakadabra.

I love Michael Morelle’s poem. It speaks volumes in a small space. It’s beautiful, hopeful, encouraging and comforting. It’s a powerful little poem, rooting for humanity.
