Africa OSH – Africa Open Science & Hardware, Ghana, April 2018
Shannon is one of the founders of Publiclab. I was hoping for a remote poem about bats, and Andrew Quitmeyer, who wrote here back in 2016 and was attending Africa OSH, found me a poet under a cloud of creatures.

Feet on the ground
But walking through a forest canopy
of chants, distant drum bass and
the chirp of a million flying foxes.
Dodging guano
Short legged centipedes
teleporting beetles
crossing from bamboo to magnolia to
  palm grove
Passing cell conversations, early
morning prayer and a left behind chicken
Feet still on the ground
 Mind left up above.
