4 Train Atlantic Ave to 59th Street, April 18th, 2018
I had bypassed my stop for another poet. At Atlantic I saw her construction helmet. I had just read a Crains article that said only three percent of construction workers are women. We rode togethe, had a riot, and she narrated this poem:

Black girl not lost
(girl – she right around the corner)
sorry I don’t want to
be a stripper
I don’t want to
go to court
All black girls
are not lost
know your own cost
