The Weather is Glomy_---_

G Train, Hoyt Street-Schermerhorn Street Station, January 12th, 2015
Thank you Middle School 8! I gave a talk on Poems by NYers to three 6th grade classes at MS 8 in Brooklyn. Later that day I surprised each class, in intervals of thirty minutes, by meeting them on the subway and asking the students to write poems as they travelled to a museum. I collected over seventy poems! Is that a world record? They are strange and wonderful. Mackenzie captured how the weather can be a slippery slope.

the weather is
glomy and
wet. and I wish
I had a pet.
and I am
wet. and i
wish I was
dry. and I feel like
I will cry because
my grandmother died.
And this will
be my first
day without her
