She stepped over to the bookshelf to browse. That’s always a good sign. She apologized for getting into my personal space. Another plus. We got to chatting and I asked her. She’s a teacher. Very polite, very kind, full of compassion, surprising poem.

be kind
if you can’t be tall
be true
if you can’t be rich
be love
if you cannot hide
show us
what you are inside
so this is the way you
    are softly led
and this is the way you
    are candle fed
tossed about
on a warm and bright breeze
a glimpse of God
and you fall to
    your knees
