I love running into him around town. He is sharp, observant and uncompromising. His accent speaks of books, erudition and the good old days, when people were opinionated and critical, and stood up against stupidity. He reminds me of my favorite high school teacher, Mr. Baruth, who taught in the wood-paneled Elizabethan Room and yelled at students for chewing gum and not knowing who Dr. Johnson was.
